Reading For Pleasure at Goxhill Primary School

We want to develop a love of reading. We have created classroom reading nooks, reading displays/ incentavies based on reading beads and the texts that the children read throughout the year. We have invested in a 'reading for pleasure' library that focuses on a diverse range of engaging and enjoyable books that are regularly renewed.

Curriculum Displays

Reception Children Visit the Local Community Library

We want to develop connections between the school and the local community. Our children visit the library weekly (one class at a time each week throughout every half term). This is to support the development of a love of reading and also to pormote the local community adn help our children to build relationships with community members who help us. Exploring the village is part of the children knowing our local area, incporporated through both the geography and history curriculum.
